For care teams and communities

Give the people you care for a way to be heard.

Tellforth lets a person tell their life story by voice, a few minutes at a time, to a patient listener. Families keep the recordings and a finished book. Your team only has to make the offer.

How a programme works

Low effort for your team. Every decision with the teller.

01

We talk

A short call about the people you serve, what you already do for legacy or reminiscence work, and what would help.

02

A small start

A handful of families first, so your team sees how it works before anyone commits to more.

03

You offer, they decide

Your staff offer it. The person telling the story decides whether to take part, what is asked and who reads it.

04

Families keep everything

Every recording and every word belongs to the teller and their family, to download free at any time.

What we will not do

Rules that protect the people you serve.

No urgency

No countdowns, no "before it's too late", no pressure in anything a teller or family receives.

No pushing

The teller chooses what is asked. A hard story told once is never asked for again.

No access without consent

Partners never see stories unless the teller invites them. Sealed stories stay sealed.

No subscription

Families pay once or the programme covers it. Nothing renews and nothing lapses.

No lock-in

Every recording and word can be downloaded free, at any time, by the teller or their family.

No invention

The memoir uses only what was said. Anything imagined in a novel is listed at the back.

Questions

What teams ask us.

How much work is it for our staff?

Very little. Staff make the offer and, if a family wants help, get the app open on a phone or tablet for the first visit. From then on the teller and their family run it. There is nothing to supervise.

Who owns the stories?

The teller does, and the family they choose to share with. We do not give partners access to anyone's stories, and partners cannot read them unless the teller invites them.

Is it suitable for people who are very unwell?

It is built for it. Five minutes is a visit, the teller can stop whenever they like, and hard subjects are never the first question. We never use countdowns or urgency in anything we send.

What about people who cannot use a phone app?

Phone-call visits on any phone, including a landline, are available as a premium add-on. A staff member or relative can also hold the tablet while the teller talks.

What does a programme cost?

It depends on how many families take part and which books they want. Write to us and we will put a proposal together.
